Medical Office Associate I, Per Diem, Multispecialty, Pompton Plains

<strong>Job Description<br><br></strong>Atlantic Medical Group Multispecialty at Pompton Plains is seeking a per diem Medical Office Associate. The practice is open M-F, 8-5. Shifts ideally would be 8-4, 8:30-4:30 or 9-5. We are located at 242 West Parkway in Pompton Plains. The specialties in this practice include Endocrinology, Neurology, Rheumatology, and Gastroenterology.<br><br><strong>Job Responsibilities/Essential Functions<br><br></strong><ul><li> Phone Coverage: Answer, handle, phone calls in a timely and efficient manner. Utilize appropriate telephone etiquette.</li><li> Scheduling: Using general scheduling guidelines appropriately schedule patient appointments selecting appropriate visit type/length of visit. May be required to schedule meetings for physicians.</li><li> Registration: Greets patient promptly upon arrival to practice. Accurately collects and documents time-of-service payments. Verifies/collects: demographics, emergency contact information, and insurance information. Correctly registers patients in system, including registration paperwork.</li><li> EMR: Accurately enters information into EMR. Uses EMR for prescriptions, phone notes, referrals, outreach, check-out, etc.</li><li> May require managing reporting, surgical scheduling, managing authorizations and referrals, maintaining adequate supply inventory</li><li> Other duties as assigned<br><br><br></li></ul><strong>Other Desired Skills, Abilities, And Knowledge<br><br></strong><ul><li> Must demonstrate interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are required in order to serve a diverse customer base. knowledge of how to assist patients in a timely manner with concerns and/or complaints.</li><li> Be proficient in the following, but not limited to: patient registration, appointments, scheduling, arrival appointments, EMR phone notes, indexing documents within EMR, telephone etiquette.</li><li> A working knowledge of computers. Knowledge regarding medical terminology, insurance, Electronic Medical Records (EMR) preferred.</li><li> Makes appropriate decisions, using available resources, to achieve positive outcomes for patients, visitors, and staff in balance with sound business practice.</li><li> Must operate standard office machines and equipment such as photocopiers, PC, fax, scanner, general office and communications equipment.</li><li> Basic problem solving and decision-making skills required.<br><br><br></li></ul><strong>Qualifications<br><br></strong><strong>Minimum Education and/or Experience Requirements <br><br></strong><strong>Education: </strong>High school diploma or GED equivalent<br><br><strong>Experience: </strong>Prior experience in an office setting with administrative tasks.
