About Camp Chateaugay

Camp Chateaugay is a traditional co-ed residential summer camp located in the beautiful Adirondack Mountains of New York. Each summer we welcome campers and staff from around the world, creating a vibrant, supportive, and fun community. Our office team plays a vital role in ensuring camp runs smoothly behind the scenes.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly organized, reliable, and proactive Office Staff Member to join our Summer 2026 administrative team. This is a fast-paced, multi-functional role supporting camp operations, staff, and families.

The ideal candidate will have prior office experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a dynamic camp environment.

Key Responsibilities

Administrative & Office Duties

Manage and organize camper and staff forms and records.

Answer and direct phone calls.

Monitor and respond to emails.

Maintain filing systems (digital and physical).

Assist with daily administrative operations.

Financial & Billing Tasks

Support payroll processing.

Manage receipts and expense tracking.

Assist with camper billing and invoices.

Help maintain accurate financial records.

Communication & Support

Communicate with parents regarding camper information and updates.

Assist staff with administrative needs.

Support Office Manager and Camp Directors with daily tasks and projects.

Help coordinate arrivals, departures, and general logistics.

Required Qualifications

Previous experience working in an office environment.

Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Professional phone and email communication skills.

Attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to multitask and prioritize workload.

Proficiency in basic computer programs (Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, etc.).

Preferred (Not Required)

Experience working with children or in a camp/school setting.

Experience with payroll or billing systems.

Customer service experience.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $3,000 for the summer.
