JOB PURPOSE

The Research Institute of Sciences and Engineering (RISE) is seeking to hire a post doc that has an experience in Bio-medical engineering, and/or Mechatronics applications. The candidates shall have some experiences in robotics, sensor design, simulation, programming and AI in the application of Bi-Medical, Bio-Sensing, …
Applicants from Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, and Computer Engineering are welcomed to apply. Experience in research is required.


MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES & EXPECTATIONS

  • Follow all University policies regulations for safe working procedures
  • Conduct research in the Bio-Medical and Bio-sensing fields, including writing literature reviews, conducting experiment, and other related process.
  • Help in editing other works, i.e. Journals and conferences, in the research group.
  • Lead undergraduate students in conducting research
  • Lead, supervise and assist the RAs and student interns.
  • Propose novel ideas of research and practical projects in line with the research group themes.
  • Develop models, conducting experimental and/or gather the required information, then analyze them and draw the conclusion.
  • Attend national and international meetings, seminars, and help in organizing them.
  • Maintain research databases to keep track of data archiving and analysis
  • Write proposals and grant applications for the research group members.
  • Help in the administration works related to the research group including writing the reports and ordering new hardware and software tools.



REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Strong commitment to and strict adherence to safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment and provide support to colleagues and supervisors as needed.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work during evenings and weekends when required.
  • Ability to work outdoors and perform duties efficiently under adverse weather conditions.
  • Proven research experience with demonstrated analytical and investigative capabilities.
  • Practical experience with biomedical issues, equipment, and related devices.
  • Sound knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques and their applications in biomedical and biosensor fields.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent communication, design and analytical skills.

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
  • Educational background in the field is a must.
  • Proficiency with software related to the areas mentioned above, such as MATLAB, and Python.
  • Publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding about sensor technologies, design, measurements and construction.
