<strong>Job Description<br><br></strong><strong>Job Overview:<br><br></strong>The Principal NDT Tech directly impacts their team's and related team's effectiveness. They exchange ideas and information relating to inspection effectively. The Principal NDT Tech may work autonomously within established inspection procedures and practices. They act as a lead, coordinating the work of others. The Principal NDT Tech proposes improvements to processes and methods within the inspection discipline.<br><br><strong>Responsibilities<br><br></strong><strong>Key Tasks and Responsibilities:<br><br></strong><ul><li>Perform NDT examination of welds and materials by any one of the following methods and qualifications (i.e., PAUT, TOFD, PT, MT, ET, RT, MUT) in accordance with a written Project NDT Plan, NDT Procedures, Code, and Contractual Specification</li><li>Execute the examination in accordance with approved NDT procedures and internationally recognized codes/specs </li><li>Determine acceptance/rejection based on the defined criteria</li><li>Liaise with the assigned Quality Inspector to determine the completion of assigned tasks</li><li>Report conforming work and identify non-conforming work for rectification</li><li>Ensure rectified work is inspected by the Quality Inspector prior to examination by the original NDT Method</li><li>Ensure proper maintenance of NDT equipment and Calibration records</li><li>Set up the equipment before the inspection (as required)</li><li>Make a scan plan and system setup, referring to the technique sheet (as required) </li><li>Perform a system calibration (static and dynamic) before, during, and after inspection (daily routine)</li><li>Evaluate and decide the weld quality (accept/reject); refer to the code and acceptance criteria (Daily routine)</li><li>Prepare an accuracy and completeness inspection report using an approved report format (Daily routine)</li><li>Maintain all equipment prior, during, and after work completion (as required)</li><li>Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results</li><li>Support the development of NDE inspection techniques for complex geometries</li><li>Assist in training and developing others within the team</li><li>Perform duties ethically and safely in accordance with the professional occupation guidelines <br><br></li></ul><strong>Qualifications<br><br></strong><strong>Essential Qualifications and Education:<br><br></strong><ul><li>High School Diploma or Degree of relevant background</li><li>5+ years in the NDE method they are being hired for ASNT, PCN, or CSWIP Level II qualification </li><li>Proficient in the use of computer and Microsoft programs</li><li>Experienced in the use of the applicable preparation software, i.e., ES Beam tool</li><li>Be occupationally qualified to internationally recognized schemes to determine competency (i.e., PCN, CSWIP, ASNT, etc.) requirements</li><li>Be proficient in assessing examination results accurately, sentencing welds, and reporting same, according to the relevant code/spec acceptance criteria</li><li>Ability to do an acceptable data acquisition (data collection) during weld inspection (daily routine)</li><li>Ability to read a code and acceptance criteria (Daily routine)<br><br></li></ul><strong>About Us<br><br></strong>Our ingenuity fuels daily life.
